DESIGNER/VENDORS
FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD . . .
ThinkPinkPixels
(Deborah Ramos)
I have mainly lived in the heart of the American
Mid-West where people live by farming, worship the
automobile, and love football. Though I grew up
dirt poor in a humble fishing village beside a lake,
I have traveled the world and stood in some of the
most magical unspoiled places on the planet! My
passion for living is only exceeded by my passion
for art. I do not have the advantage of arts or
marketing degrees, but I am self-taught in more
ways than one and I am incredibly gifted. At least
I like to believe I am so please don't burst my
bubbles! Another
avenue that appears in my work is a lifetime of
artisan training in many disciplines. I know intimately
how objects are created because I am very detail
oriented. I began my training at the age of 5 studying
weaving of both rugs and American Indian beadwork. My
father is a carpenter. I learned woodworking from
him. I know the effects of stains on different raw
woods, faux finishes, etc, but I can't drive a straight
nail to save my life. That's where Dad came in handy.
A nice old lady gave me an antique Singer featherweight
sewing machine when I was 12. I was mercilessly
made fun of because I made my own clothes and carried
around a beatup denim purse. Who would have guessed
that today it's high fashion! I have done quilting,
embroidery, fabric art, stone work, crochet, made
some really nice jewelry, painting, stenciling,
hand lettering, calligraphy, leather work, made some
really classy doll clothes,...the list goes on and
on. Everything I've done has led me up to this point.
When
I discovered Photoshop, a whole new world of expression
opened itself to me.I have struggled to learn Photoshop,
PS plugins, Illustrator, and other drawing programs
over the last 10 years through online tutorials,
studying other artists, and trial & error. Photoshop
is so much fun because it will keep me challenged
for years to come. Nowadays, I keep a digital camera
in my purse and carry it with me wherever I go.
As an artist I feel it my duty to fill the world
with courage, strength, and beauty.
GoblinMarket
(Stephanie-Baker Thomas)
Goblinmarket (Stephanie Baker-Thomas) has been creating
digital graphics for 15 years. She has loved making
handmade cards and other crafts with her children
since they were in pre-school, where she was known
as the "pop-up card queen" of the local
Montessori. Known for her 3D
characters for Poser and her PhotoImpact
tutorials, she is excited about entering the world
of printable digital projects. She lives in Naples,
Florida, with her husband, kids, lots of dogs, cats,
fish and a ball python, among 3 desktop and 2 laptop
computers.
SusanAnn (Spiritfoxy)
Since this is about my life as an artist, I shall
start there. My Father always said I started drawing
long before I could walk. I know I have been drawing
& painting as long as I can remember. I was
blessed to have a Master Printer for a Father, so
I was introduced to the world of commercial art
at a very young age. By the age of 10 I was making
my first money designing custom logo illustrations,
and have never stopped. What other fields have I
delved into? My other love is the theatre &
music. I have traveled around the globe as a professional
singer for many years & have loved every minute
of it, though I have always taken my “art” along
with me. I have also traveled around the globe as
a member of a dance company. What kind of dance?
I have been involved in a number of dance companies,
mainly ballet & I had the honour of being a
lead dancer in a Mexican folkloric dance company.
Training you ask? I have attended Art School. I
have college degrees in the following fields: A
major in Fine Art & The Arts, with minors in
Dance, Architectural Design, Fashion Design &
the Culinary Arts, along with many certificates
of achievement in many areas, I am a curious soul,
always learning new things. *smile*
Barnali
Bagchi (Moonbeam1212)
I’m Barnali Bagchi, aka “moonbeam1212”. Born in
a small town in India called Jamshedpur into a family
where everyone can either paint and draw or sculpt,
I was lucky to inherit this passion for creativity.
I came into graphic art after dabbling in traditional
fine arts for some time, and taught myself Photoshop
and Illustrator, though my prime interest still
remains in traditional fine arts, in which I hold
a higher diploma. I also have a BSc in IT and have
worked for the software multinational company Infosys
in Bangalore, India, for a few years. My style centres
on creative use of lines, curls and curves, developed
around wide ranging themes. A feature of my art
is the use and modern interpretation of the traditional
forms and rich motifs of Indian art, mainly from
the “Alpona” style of my native Bengal, and I interpret
that digitally, even in the non-Indian themes I
take up. I am currently residing in Dubai with my
journalist husband and working as a freelance designer
and artist for clients from around the globe and
private commissioners - when I am not writing tutorials
for magazines and websites. The little free time
that my work affords me, I spend in making art for
my own pleasure, free from commercial considerations,
some of which can be seen at http://www.wix.com/moonbeam1212/barnaliarts
Photoshop 7 takes care of 80% of my digital needs;
the rest is Illustrator. The other tool I can’t
do without is the humble MOUSE! All my digital art
so far is done purely with the mouse though I hope
to be able to afford a Wacom Cintiq one day!
Veronica Atanacio (Folkvangar)
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina with my lovely
family. I always love art and I've been working
in digital art for just over 6 years, creating graphics
for my online shopping Folkvangar. I absolutely
self-taught and I always tried to improve my skills
in order to provide nice and high quality products
to my clients. I really love what I do because I
feel that I can live literally from my imagination.
Although I spend most of my time working on new
products for my store, and the new store I share
with my husband, The
Paper Shelter. I also took the challenge
to embark myself into the world of digital painting,
where I had the amazing opportunity to paint for
some great magazines and books.
The genres and style you'll mostly see in my store
will be related with fantasy, fairies, goth, romantic,
shabby chic and vintage. I hope you enjoy my product
as much I enjoy making them!
Diego
Escarlon (Deskar)
I live in a forest,
at the top of a sand mountain, on the beach shore
with my wife Barbara (aka DreamWarrior) and Duna,
our dog. Transplanted from a big city of glass,
concrete, smog and neurosis, not a day goes by in
which we can't believe that the birds say hello
to us every morning and the wind dances among our
trees. I think of myself as a citizen of the world
and I'm thrilled to be able to offer my work here.
As a graphic artist I've explored many realmsand
my intention is to use that experience to offer
original products and fresh air to the dear world
of digital art.
Barbara
Din (Dreamwarrior)
I live in Argentina, in a small town
by the sea near Buenos Aires. I loved art and computers
since I can remember. As I grew, it became natural
to mix these two passions together. I’m an artisan,
an interior and graphic designer, and now I’m on
my way to become a metalsmithing jeweler. So when
it comes to making digital products, I take ideas
from all these universes. Sometimes I use my artisan
side to make sources for digital products. Sometimes
I enjoy making products completely from scratch
in their “digital essence”. Many times you will
find me drinking coffee in my new home’s park (which
I love) and doodling. I love making graphics SO
much! In any case, I always look for an edge, something
unique, something new. I watched some of my products
become the first of their kind, followed by many
products from other sellers. It is fun to open new
paths. I sincerely hope you enjoy my products as
much as I have enjoyed making them.

Snezana
Attlic (Assnezana)
I live in my hometown Belgrade for 40 years,
surrounded by a lovely family and all that makes
me creative and lucky. I went to Economy School,
but I soon realized that the accounts were not my
passion. I graduated Marketing, which allows me
to merge my surreal ideas with the business real
world. Quite by chance I opened Photoshop, and my
views have been opened. . . like skies. I found
my piece of land. For a long time I worked as a
graphic/designer freelancer, where I met (internet)
many people that I worked a variety of graphic services.
Fortunately, I met a wonderful Buyer, successful
marketer. Today, I work with him, as an assistant
illustrator. In addition, the work of the Dana has
inspired me. That's why I am here.

I
was born in Brazil some time ago ( I forgot the
number of years, please don’t ask...lol) and now
I live in Padstow, Cornwall in the UK with my
husband Bob and my youngest son. I have 3 sons
and 2 beautiful grandaughters. Coming
from a family of artists I have always been interested
in all things related to Art. I used to make a
living from my paintings for some time using a
variety of media: watercolour, oil and acrylic.
About 3 years ago I was introduced to digital
scrapbook and led by a very good friend I started
to sell what I was creating. When not at the computer
(which is rare, LOL) I am either embroidering,
quilting, painting or any other craft or reading.
I love to read and will grab any book, but my
favourite author among others is Barbara Erskine.
I also love to travel visiting all the wonderful
heritage places around the UK especially the ancient
stones monuments where you can feel so much energy.
Davor
Planinec (-dp-)
I
was born 38 years ago in one small town in Croatia.
Then, 10 years ago I moved to the capital, Zagreb.
In between I spent 2 years living in London and
6 months in San Diego. In
my life I have changed many professions – I started
as a Chief Accountant for one private company
(which helped me realise I hate accounting and
numbers), worked as a salesman and a tourist guide
(which enabled me to travel), than moved on to
be a care assistant to a disabled person (which
helped me realise how a healthy person should
not be grumpy all the time), have taught English
language (which helped me to write this Vendor
Profile J), worked as an Image Designer for one
company (which got me addicted to Photoshop) to
end up as a Chief Story Editor in one private
production company (which is paying my monthly
expenses).
I
simply and honestly adore graphic design and Photoshop.
To think that I’ve created something that other
people admire is the feeling I cannot describe.
Setting the creativity spark to the fire of a
finished product is the most fulfilling experience
in the world. I have many other interests besides
Photoshop, but the most interesting one is my
thirst for symbols and the impact they have on
the collective consciousness. I love astrology,
tarot, numbers, colours, and even logo design
(which is the modern way of playing with one’s
sub consciousness).
In
this store I was given the opportunity to combine
two of my greatest passions through the products
you see under my name or created in collaboration
with other designers,
and share them with you.
Tamara
Donohoe (ZaibyDesign)
I
live high in the California desert, surrounded
by my 2 boys, 2 German Sheperds, a husband and
more computers and electronics than I can count.
I grew up in the publishing world, with a writer
for a father and very artistic mother. I did my
time in the corporate world working at several
major magazines, newspapers, and even a high end
7- color press. Eventually I left to start my
own agency and never looked back. My husband joined
me and helped me build it into a thriving business
with enough clients to necessitate a waiting list
for projects. 10 years later, I'm still going
strong.
I
started out in graphics before Photoshop even
existed (OK so..before Adobe even existed, but
I'm showing my age there!). As an old-school typesetter,
I cut my teeth on Photoshop. Most of my products
are high- resolution and very large sizes, since
you can always size them down. I want to be sure
my customers can use them wherever they want.
I look at developing products from a designer's
standpoint mainly, as well as from an artist's
standpoint and try to cater to both. The other
thing I try to do is take something historical
and bring the beauty of it into a modern usage
or make it usable for both modern and historical
styles. I love products that do double duty and
mix and match well. I have to stop myself once
I really get going though, because I'd cram every
possible variation into a pack if they'd let me!
I tend to be attracted to all things historical,
so that has a lot of influence on my work. Ancient
Rome, the Victorian age, SteamPunk, Art Nouveau,
Japanese styles, ancient India, you name it. If
I've got color to play with, I'm happy!
With
the introduction of so many less expensive alternatives
to full Photoshop, more people are getting into
design and I think that's fabulous! I used to
be a Photoshop teacher, so seeing people embrace
it, or any other postwork program, gives me true
joy and I'm never prouder than when someone uses
one of my products and says "Look what I
did!" and then starts exploring on their
own because they now have the confidence to just
get in there and try. You can't break it...there's
always undo!
Of
course I choose what "I" like to work
on artistically or whatever seems missing from
the market, as well as taking requests. I have
a lot of people who ask for certain themes or
"packs". Then I set about figuring out
how someone WITHOUT a lot of Photoshop experience
would want to use the product. I try to have some
variation of raw materials and finished pre-done
parts, so the product has ease of use for many
skill levels. Advanced users may want raw textures.
People just starting out may want things that
they can just layer together quickly and easily
and have them look great. Pros may want something
that just saves them work. I try to hit all 3
requirements through my product line. I find that
I use a lot of my own products in my magazine
layouts and websites for clients as well.

I've
been creating digital art in some form or another
for just over 14 yrs, having started out by creating
my own graphics for my website. I spent many years
teaching myself Photoshop, Painter and Corel Draw
through lots of trial and error, books and magazines.
I later studied multi-media art and design at the
University of Kent where I also studied art history
and creative advertising. As
well as being passionate about my work, computer
and digital art, I love drawing, painting and crafting.
And have done some form of it ever since my beloved
grandmother taught me to crochet when I was a little
girl. I'm from an arty family with both my parents
being artists and so it wasn't a surprise to me
to have such a passion for art and the need to do
it full time once my four children had all grown
up and left the nest! I
live with my artist husband in the south east corner
of England. My days are filled with working on new
products for this website as well as looking after
my home, crafting, going out for walks, reading
and listening to music.

I
studied to become a graphic designer for three
years at the college of Ahuntsic in Montreal very
many years ago, it was so long ago that computers
weren't even used for that purpose back then.
It's only in 1996 that I started creating digital
graphics with the help of photoshop. I first started
out doing web design graphics then turned to 3D
illustration and finally the creation of digital
graphic resources. I've slowly but with determination
taught myself the use of photoshop and after several
years of practice I can now say that I'm mostly
comfortable with it. I still have a lot to learn
though, photoshop is such a complex program, I
know I still have many other possibilities to
explore and maybe this is why my passion for this
medium is never fading.
When
I'm not photoshopping, I enjoy spending time with
my husband Marc, our 3 children, Vincent, Kim
and Alain and our dog Loki. I love photography
and pretty mcuh everywhere I go my camera follows,
I am a huge nature lover, enjoy hiking and in
the summer kayaking with hubby has become a must
whenever working schedule and weather cooperate.
